Sales Trainee

This is a tremendous opportunity to learn sales in the exciting and growing field of communications technology.  As a Sales Trainee, you will learn all the aspects of the sales department from the ground up.  You will work closely with the Account Executives to learn both the technology we provide and how to become an IT consultant to Executives, Directors, and Business Line Managers.  In addition, you will work with the Marketing Manager to promote Eastern DataComm and the products and services we provide to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales Team by managing schedules, creating sales documents, price quotes and proposals, and performing general office functions.
  • Generate incremental sales from existing customer base
  • Handle and prioritize prospects and customer requests among the Sales Team
  • Assist with contract support, changes, and updates
  • Create sales orders from signed quotes/proposals, ensuring all needed information is provided to the next group in the work flow
  • Liaison between the sales and service departments to understand and monitor post-sales installations
  • Work with purchasing and 3rd party vendors to obtain pricing for sales quotes/proposals
  • Assist Sales Team with updating sales opportunities within Tigerpaw CRM
  • Input and manage customer files within Tigerpaw CRM
  • Assist Marketing Manager to ensure customer database is current for marketing campaigns
  • Help coordinate remote installations on sales projects. This includes obtaining price quotes from remote vendors/subcontractors and following up with work completed.
  • Answer inbound calls to Eastern DataComm, both general and service
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of the company
  • Help create and refine internal processes
  • Overall support of the Sales and Marketing efforts as required

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required

  • Proactive with a willingness to overcome obstacles
  • Proficient with general office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively including professionally written and grammatically correct emails
  • Industrious by nature with ability to work with minimal supervision

Sales Executive

Eastern DataComm is seeking B2B Sales Executives for selling advanced communication, notification and networking solutions. We are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic sales people to prospect and bring in new business across a variety of markets – including, but not limited to, schools, libraries, municipalities, local government, law and accounting firms, financial firms, banks, contact centers and more.

This is great sales opportunity for an experienced sales person looking to possibly change industries, who thrives in a small company, autonomous environment – an enthusiastic, ambitious and dedicated sales professional looking to represent one of the premier telecommunications firms in New Jersey. The right candidate will be responsible to manage their sales opportunities, prospect, strategize, negotiate, and close business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently exceed assigned revenue and margin quota

  • Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Analyze, recommend, and provide appropriate solution sets to clients to build a strong reference base of clients that are highly satisfied.
  • Facilitate the highest level of professionalism to build on-going relationships with your clients, partners, and internal staff.
  • Approximately 25-40% travel to customers within the NY Metro area/all of NJ including Atlantic City for various industry trade shows and events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 plus years outside sales experience
  • Self-motivated, high energy – ambitious!
  • Work both independently and as a good team member
  • Commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction
  • Strong relationship building, and a proven track record of selling to end-users and business decision makers
  • Engaging presentation and speaking skills along with solid writing and active listening skills
  • High organizational skills

  • Consistent sales performer with an emphasis on the ability to manage complex sales cycles and orchestrate resources to obtain results.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota in a direct consultative sales role.
