This complimentary workshop, brought to you by Eastern DataComm in partnership with Mitel, shares insights regarding best practices school leaders lean upon to improve the safety of their communities.

Our presenters detail the challenges a school faces when dealing with active shooter events as well as other emergency situations. They explore how basic safety regulations and requirements often fall short of creating a fully secured learning environment. Referencing national headline-making incidents like Uvalde, Covenant, Parkland, and Sandy Hook, real-life examples will be examined as case studies in an effort to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.

Guest expert Adam Drew, School Resource Officer (SRO), law enforcement professional, and founder of Three Corners, a consulting firm focused on K–12 safety training and workshops in the New York and New Jersey area, and Eastern DataComm’s National School Safety Advisor Paul Jenne will share insights that will positively impact how you safeguard your school community.

Adam and Paul will share the practical value of reviewing your school’s processes, policies, and procedures related to emergency events. You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how these elements, working together with technological systems like video surveillance, access control, emergency notification, paging, bells, clocks, and phones, can create the safest possible school environment – one that our children, educators, and supporting staff deserve.

  • 11:00 am to 1:30 pm – Interactive Presentation with Audience Q&A, inclusive of live demonstrations of effective emergency notification, access control, and video surveillance technologies

We’ll detail the challenges a school faces when dealing with active shooter events and why the basic requirements and how reviewing policies and procedures can help to boost and bolster your school safety ecosystem.

We’ll conclude with a discussion and Q&A period. So we invite you to bring any questions you’d like to ask our expert presenters as well!
