Alternative Emergency Mechanism:  Your Key to Alyssa’s Law Compliance

Alyssa’s Law requires each school building to be equipped with at least one panic alarm or an alternative emergency mechanism that is linked to local law enforcement and approved by the NJDOE. Districts should implement the most responsive system in accordance with their School Security and Safety Plans and school building configurations. With the recent updates on Alyssa’s Law and the NJ Grants for School Security, now is the time to review your school technology security needs.

At our session, we will:

  • Review Alyssa’s Law requirements and discuss alternative emergency mechanisms that meet those requirements.
  • Guide you in understanding your technology components and how they best work together to be fully prepared to effectively lockdown.
  • Discuss the three principles for school safety and security technology solutions.
You will walk away with an actionable plan to meet the requirements of Alyssa’s Law and how it will assist you when applying for NJ Grants for School Security.
